Blogging for Books: Cats in Paris

I finally chose to order an adult coloring book because I recently became an adult dammit!
I like the book because it isn't like the other types of coloring books out there with the complicated time consuming patterns that take forever and I can never finish, I want a coloring book that doesn't feel to me like a job when I color into it. I love the combination of Cats and Paris but I don't know how I feel about the ink smudges that are purposefully in the pages, sometimes they get distracting and take away from the picture as a whole.

Blogging for Books: Modern Printmaking

I ordered this book for my printmaking class which I was later kicked out of for not paying my tuition fees on time D:[

But anyways, this book is pretty great in explaining all the different kinds of printmaking like Woodblock carvings and Lithographs and Intaglio and more. I'm really inspired by this book to try and make my own prints or carvings!

Blogging for Books Art Students League of New York on Painting

I chose this book because I have an interest in painting but oh man is this book intense.

The book is split into three sections, Lessons and Demos, Advice and Philosophies, and Interviews. So far I've only gotten part way into the Lessons and Demos but I like seeing how the process of each artist creates their paintings. It's really inspiring that these people have the drive and determination to want to paint for a living and how their passion goes into the canvas. 

I can't really advise novice painters or those with a passing fancy to get this book, since it's kind of overwhelming just by the sheer volume and complexity of some of the stuff inside, which even winded me but I will persist for you, my readers! Probably

The first five days

1. Spent most of the day in bed in that new years day hazy fog playing Battlefront on the new PS4
2. Went to river oaks to watch Carol/ go to Barnes and Noble
3. Ate at Tiger Den in Bellaire, had the Black bean Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen and Takoyaki

• January 2nd

1. Spent the day with my sister, going to ikea, the cigar lounge to get free cigar boxes, my brothers place, goodwill, the orange show, cactus records, aaaaand
2. Ate dinner with my sis at Maggianos with the greatest deal ever. Appetizers, two Entrees, Dessert, and two more entrees to take home all for just $40!
3.  Dismantled an old dresser and rearranged the furniture in my room

• January 3rd

1. Ate at pappasitos with my parents and my sister and ordered the biggest nachos I've ever seen
2. Went back to river oaks with my parents to watch Brooklyn
3. Went to half price books to look for records, ended up getting some design books

• January 4th

1. Spent the entire day with two babes at rice village eating lunch, going to half price books, urban outfiters and gift exchanging but I forgot my presents (woops) 
2. Drove friends in my car (for the first time!) to Cactus Records and to get Boba, and browse Target

• January 5th

1. Took the dog to the dog park
2. Rearranged power distribution in my room 
3. Went to Target with my mom
